Alpha Chi Sigma (AXΣ)
Alpha Chi Sigma is a national chemistry fraternity (open to all students and faculty), with the goal to bind its members together with a tie or true and lasting friendship, to strive for advancement of chemistry both as a science and a profession, and to aid its members by every honorable means in the attainment of their ambitions as chemists throughout their lives.
Student ACS Chapter
The Student ACS Chapter at UNT is student affiliate group of the national American Chemical Society (ACS), which is the national organization for chemistry professionals.
Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (oSTEM) at North Texas aims to support students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and to create a dynamic network between students and professionals in industry and academia. While our primary focus is to promote the full participation and involvement of LGBTQ+ people within STEM fields, we are open to all, regardless of identity or degree program.
Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Sciences (SACNAS)
The Purpose of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Sciences (SACNAS) UNT Chapter is to promote the mission of SACNAS and to offer educational and professional development resources and opportunities to students interested in the sciences. The Mission of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Sciences (SACNAS) UNT Chapter are: To build a strong thriving organization at the University of North Texas. To further the work of, to improve the effectiveness of, and to enhance the public understanding of and appreciation for Chicanos, Latinos, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other underrepresented minorities in science; To cooperate with other individuals, organizations, clubs, and other groups whose purposes include the achievement of public understanding for Chicanos, Latinos, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other underrepresented minorities in the sciences; To promote student recruitment and retention of Chicanos, Latinos, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other underrepresented minorities in science at the University of North Texas; and To provide a forum for students from different science majors and science related majors to come together for academic, community service and social activities at the University of North Texas.
Association of Women in Science (AWIS)
The Association for Women in Science, North Texas Affiliate Group is an organization focused on empowering women within the STEM fields, educating others about opportunities for women in STEM, and building a network of other people who are committed to diversity in the sciences. We are hoping to do virtual talks, attend networking events with professionals in the field, and eventually do some community outreach.
