DFW Area

Denton is a college town, with a population of over 130,000, located on the northern outskirts of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. It is 30 minutes from Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport, which host flight by most major airlines, and approximately 50 minutes from Dallas Love Field (where Southwest Airlines, Virgin America and a few other airlines fly). Denton offers many opportunities - a nice-sized mall, movie theaters, restaurants, etc. There's a terrific ice cream place across the street from the city's old courthouse.

The Dallas-Ft. Worth-North Texas area, with a population of over 7 million, offers an extraordinary number of activities, including longhorn cattle drives down the middle of Ft. Worth (for the really adventurous, you may even climb on a longhorn!), athletics (e.g., Texas Rangers baseball and races at Texas Motor Speedway), numerous concerts (such as those at Billy Bob's Texas), Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, and numerous museums (such as the Sixth Floor Museum). The list goes on and on!
