DFW Area

Denton is a college town, with a population of over 100,000, located on the northern outskirts of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. It is 30 minutes from the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport (where most airline carriers fly), and approximately 50 minutes from Love Field (where Southwest Airlines and a few other carriers fly). Denton offers many opportunities - a nice-sized mall, movie theaters, restaurants, . . . During the summer activities include concerts once a week outside the city's old courthouse. (There's a terrific ice cream place across the street!)

The Dallas and Ft. Worth area, with a population of over 7 million, offers an extraordinary number of activities including longhorn cattle drives down the middle of Ft. Worth (for the really adventurous, you may even climb on a longhorn!), athletics (e.g., Texas Rangers baseball and races at Texas Motor Speedway), numerous concerts (such as those at Billy Bob's Texas), Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor, numerous museums (such as the Sixth Floor Museum), and the list goes on and on!
