I am designing a suite of characterization methods and corresponding nanomaterials which describe metrics sich as size, surface charge, stability, and in vivo toxicity. These characterization methods include UV-Vis absorbance spectroscopy, ICP-MS, Zeta potential measurement, DLS measurement, SEM/HRTEM, in vitro toxicity measurement of human cancer cell lines, and in vitro toxicity on animal toxicity model cell lines. This will give researchers more confidence in their results and speed up FDA approval of potential therapies. I am investigating the incorporation of metallic and ceramic nanoparticles into functional MOFs for next generation, multifunctional industrial catalysts.
