DR. SHENGQIAN MA RECEIVED DOE GRANT TO DEVELOP CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE TECHNOLOGY

Congratulations to Dr. Shengqian Ma for receiving a Department of Energy grant to develop carbon dioxide capture technology. Dr. Ma, along with collaborators at Northern Illinois University, Argonne National Lab and Angstrom Advanced Inc., received a $2 Million Department of Energy grant to develop an industrial direct-air carbon dioxide capture module, which will be integrated with a carbon dioxide electrolyzer system to convert the trapped carbon dioxide to ethanol. The capture module will help reduce or eliminate carbon dioxide emissions produced during manufacturing and industrial processes, thus lowering greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
