Chemistry professor Dr. Hong Wang was recently awarded the 2019-2020 UNT Teacher-Scholar Award, presented by the Office
of Faculty Success. The award will be presented to Dr. Wang at the Salute to Faculty
Excellence awards dinner and celebration on April 23, 2020.
According to the website, this award is given to "the mid‐career faculty member who has demonstrated excellence
in research or creative productivity while also performing in an extraordinary manner
as a teacher."
Dr. Wang, who joined UNT in 2016, is our Graduate Advisor, as well as a Full Professor.
Dr. Acree's primary research interests include asymmetric catalysis through cooperative
enamine-metal lewis acid catalysis, functional organic materials based on p-extended
porphyrins, and development of small molecule inhibitors targeting stat3.
