Dr. Elizabeth Skellam, new assistant professor of chemistry, was recently highlighted
by the Office of Research and Innovation for her research into "fungal molecules to
potentially use for agricultural as well as pharmaceutical solutions".

In the UNT article, it was mentioned that she received a Bayer Crop Science Grants4Ag
Award for her work using fungi as biocontrol agents to protect crops against specific
plant pathogens, and a new National Science Foundation grant to help get her lab up
                  and running.
