Scholarships and Awards

UNT and the Department of Chemistry offer a variety of scholarships.

Teaching Assistantships (TA), preppers, graders, CRC and CCIL personnel and Research Assistantships (RA)

Graduate students in the Department of Chemistry at UNT are funded through a variety of sources. However, normally students begin their graduate studies on a TA, prepper or grader position. Once a student joins a research group, a student is often either on a RA or on a TA. Students typically join research groups during their first semester of the graduate program.

Our TA stipends are very competative and offer a waiver of out-of-state tuition. Also, TA's receive free health insurance (provided by the State of Texas) beginning 90 days after employment. The amount of support and benefits for RA positions are determined by the student's faculty research advisor.

WE AUTOMATICALLY CONSIDER ALL APPLICANTS FOR ANY AND ALL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WHICH THEY ARE ELIGIBLE.
