Many fine and lengthy speeches were delivered that day by school officials, dignitaries, professors, historians, and even the mayor of Meaux. Moissan was lauded that day for his grand accomplishments (including a Nobel prize) since leaving the Collège de Meaux, only two blocks north, which he attended 1865-1870.
