The Old Louvre is now known as the Sully Wing. Additions include the Denon (south) and Richelieu (north) Wings. Most of the buildings in the inner area have been cleared away to form an expansive courtyard with the famous "Pyramid" in the middle. The "Pyramid" sits approximately at the site of the former Hotel de Longueville, the headquarters of the hated Farmers-General and a symbol of the oppressive government which was overthrown in the French Revolution.
