In front of the Palacio is "El Caballito" (the little horse), sculpted by Manusel Tolsá. This sculpture is of Charles III (1748-1819; King of Spain 1788-1819). This was the successor to Carlos III (1716-1788; King of Spain 1759-1788) who established the Mining School in Mexico City. The building in the background is the Museo Nacional de Arte (National School of Art). The view is north.
