Ironically, university historians have trace the original laboratory, where Reich and Richter discovered indium, to this site, now a restroom, just to the right as one enters Nonnengasse 22. Reich was the principal discoverer, but since he was color-blind he entrusted the spectroscopic examination to Richter. Two indigo lines were characterized, from which the name indium was derived.
