In this display, the written chronicles of Klaproth are emphasized. "Martin Heinrich Klaproth 1743-1817. Famous pharmacist and chemist, first Professor of chemistry at the University of Berlin which was established in 1810. Founder of the quantitative chemical analysis of minerals." Klaproth was considered the best analytical chemist of the time. Instead of striking off errors in total mass as "experimental errors," Klaproth considered these minor aberations as true indicators of changes in composition. In the foreground are his famous treatises (see next photo).
