"The Schweizerhof ["Swiss court"] is the oldest part of the building complex. The four corner towers were reinforced and the Gothic Chapel was installed by Emperor Ferdinand III 1447-1449. Under Ferdinand I (1552-1553) the building were remodeled into a Renaissance Palace, after the fashion of the Swiss Guard, and the gate and courtyard were thus named "Sweitzerhof." These guarded until the time of the Empress Maria Theresa [1717-1780]." Notice that Ferdinand I was mentioned, but Paracelsus was not -- Paracelsus did not have as much success in the court here as he did in Pressburg (modern Bratislava), 55 km east.
