Assistant Professor in Chemistry Education

The Chemistry Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Chemistry Education.

The successful candidate is expected to play an important role in the planned revitalization of our Ph.D. program in Chemistry Education, while also engaging in externally funded research and contributing to the teaching mission of the UNT Chemistry Department. Candidates whose interests align with university-wide initiatives aimed at improve the educational experience through effective online and hybrid instruction, virtual reality, and other digital learning approaches are especially encouraged to apply.

The new faculty member will have opportunities to interface with many established programs on campus that focus on aspects of science education, including the Teach North Texas (TNT) teacher training program, the NetDragon Digital Research Center, the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (a residential magnet high school for high achievers), and a vibrant group of TRIO programs that includes an Upward Bound center and a McNair Scholars program.
